Disclaimer: I have a crappy Sony DSC-W170 and an iPhone. I apologize in advance for the photo quality.
Amy is a flower artist who works at Garden Party Flowers. The studio just moved into a new space lately and had its opening party on October 19th. Amy generously extended an invitation to yours truly, who was only very glad to visit her first flower shop in Vancouver (or so said my FourSquare. But it’s true!).
When I visited the website for the first time, I was struck by the originality and modern look of the arrangements. But they can do classic and traditional too! Just a talented bunch of ladies (and a gentleman!) to fulfill all your flowery needs. Amy and her team have done work for VIFF, lululemon, Guu restaurant and other businesses and events around town. (Check out their Fresh Flowers for a taste.)
The party featured a poesy arrangement workshop, excellent food by Guu, Coma Food and a variety of sweets providers for the desserts (can you say chocolate? Mmmm). The studio space is gorgeous and you can also just drop by for an impromptu bouquet.
I even made my own poesy bouquet in tones of deep purple and white.
Flower arrangement is a beautiful art and I’m happy I got to learn a little more about it. Garden Party Flowers frequently hosts flower workshops and events, so check out their website for more information.
You can see more photos in my Flickr album.
Congratulations to Garden Party Flowers for their new space!
