Finding the Best Poutine in Vancouver–Lennox Pub

Sometimes I don’t go to a restaurant specifically for a poutine; if it’s on the menu though, might as well try it. After all, I have to try everything, the good like the bad!

On Monday September 19th I had lunch at the Lennox pub on Robson at Granville after the blogging summit at Social Media Week. I had the poutine because it was on the menu, but I shouldn’t even have bothered.

Meh.

Fries: the fries were frozen fries, not even fresh made. Already losing points.

Gravy: Overly salty beef gravy with too much corn starch. Meh.

Cheese: They were cheese curds all right, but not fresh (they weren’t squeaky) and too cold to melt under the lukewarm gravy. Fresh cheese curds can be kept at room temperature for 12 hours after they’re made.

I was quite disappointed but then I wasn’t expecting much. It’s a nice enough pub but don’t bother with the poutine there.

Score: 2/10
